14th Annual Fat Tire Fest & McGee LungBUSTER
October 16 - October 17
Saturday, October 16 & Sunday, October 17, 2021
The Tri-County Mountain Bike Association (TCMBA) is preparing to host their 14th Annual Fat Tire Fest & McGee LungBUSTER on October 16th and 17th, 2021, at the Ridgeland Trails located at 521 Giles Ln, Madison, MS 39110. The Annual Fat Tire Fest & McGee LungBUSTER is a family fun event geared toward mountain bike racing. However, you don’t have to be a mountain bike racer to enjoy yourself at this event – expect a fun fall weekend filled with music, games, local food, and of course mountain bike race spectating.
On Saturday, October 16th at 2:00 pm, kids’ mountain bike races will commence. There is a wide range of age categories for kids to participate in so they can compete with other children close in age. This year, TCMBA will also be introducing a 4 Stage Enduro Bike Race. Following Saturday’s races, attendees can enjoy a slice of pizza from the Lost Pizza food truck. Starting at 6:00 pm, Kudzu Kings, an alternative country/roots rock jam band from Oxford, Mississippi, will be playing live at the Mayfield Pavilion at the Ridgeland Trails. Primitive overnight camping is permitted at no additional cost — campers can enjoy the large bonfire lit at dusk and prepare s’mores. Attendees that would prefer to stay at hotel rather than camp can choose one of the many hotel accommodations the City of Ridgeland has to offer.
On Sunday, October 17th, the main race event begins at 8:00 am for beginners and 10:00 am for more advanced riders. Sunday’s race is the grand finale of the Gulf South Regional Mountain Bike Series. Racers and family members of TCMBA can fix themselves a loaded potato from the potato bar after the race or enjoy a refreshing beverage from the Capitol City beer truck.
Proceeds of the 14th Annual Fat Tire Fest & McGee LungBUSTER benefit TCMBA. TCMBA is an official 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing recreational trails in the Jackson Metro area. The Association is affiliated with the International Mountain Bicycling Association, a non-profit educational association whose mission is to create, enhance, and preserve trail opportunities for mountain bikers worldwide.
